The Tigers Dominate the Devils

Jeff Tambellini came out, got a hat trick on 5 shots, posted 4 total points, got a +3, and led the Tigers in a total domination over the Devils. In all honesty, the score of 6 - 4 was not a true indication of how the Tigers played. If not for Mole letting in three seemingly simple goals, this would have been a 6 - 1 romp.

Stunning performances were also in place from Nielsen and Nilsson, both with 3 points on the night and +2 and +3 respectively. Robert also took home the 2nd star of the night.

The person who didn't seem to get the credit he deserves is Billy Thompson. Billy came in with 8 minutes left in the first period, posted 25 saves and only allowed 1 goal.

Overall the Tigers showed some much needed moxy tonight giving several good shifts in the first period and then playing well above their normal level in the 2nd and 3rd. If the Tigers can put a couple of these together the playoff picture may start to change.

All that being said I would like to personally thank my beloved Islanders (who trounced the Thrashers 6 - 0 this evening - Yay!) for the following player blunders that worked in the Tiger's favor:

They sent down Tambellini (15-12-27 with a +9) to keep Hilbert (2-5-7).
They sent down Comeau (7-14-21) to keep Boguniecki (0-0-0 Islanders, 3-5-8 Tigers with a -10)
and they didn't take Nilsson (7-15-22 with a +5) but did take "bad attitude" Campoli (3-3-6 with a -11)

Go Tigers!!
